On September 13th Henrik hosted his now Bi Weekly QnA stream, where he showed a short video of some areas in Mortal Online 2 running on Unreal Engine 5 with Lumen.
The stream has been archived on our YouTube channel:
Unreal Engine 5 Progress Update
Most of the team is still fully focused on migrating the game to the new engine, and we are making steady progress. The migration is rather laborious, and involves converting, adjusting and in some cases completely redoing many different areas of the game such as how the world is split up, all the different meshes, materials, lighting and components of the world.
We currently have new builds on our test server happening every couple of days on UE5, there is still much to do however most things gameplay-wise are working well enough already.
TC Balance Issues
We are very much aware of the current issues with Territory Control balance regarding Claiming Stones and Guild Defence swapping, Guild Supply caps being too low and not expandable, the ability to out repair siege damage and so on.
We know these issues can be extremely frustrating and we want to address them as soon as we can, however due to the UE5 migration it is currently rather complicated and very messy to create a hotfix for the live branch of the game.
Some of the above problems may perhaps be fixable by a server patch that does not involve any client updates, and we will be looking at the highest priority ones soon to see what we can do.
