I joined Mortal Online 2, 2 days ago. In that time, I have had 3 horses killed, while being PKed 8 times. I can't even leave a town save the few times i've been able to sneak out to get another horse. How am I suppose to progress in this game when anytime I leave a town there are tin cans waiting for me to shoot me with a bow from outside the guards range and then run me down if I try to do anything productive outside? I understand the concept of PKing in games, but with a game with such a small community, maybe don't camp new players who are trying out the game? even with just 2 days in it seems pretty easy to spot the new players, and that's who is getting targeted from my experience and from what I've read in chat. Why would a game that struggles with it's community growth actively stifle new players? go find another tin can to fight.

Maybe I'm just bad at the game, but the game itself is not very hard. What's hard is being able to progress when you have 12 year old mordhau players outside the city gates yelling 1v1 and then run at you without a response. I feel like I literally can't play the game because of the amount of horse archers in tin cans that just run new players down,. Please help I WANT to enjoy the game, I UNDERSTAND loosing items. It isn't what bothers me, I just want to leave the fucking town.
That's really disappointing to hear. Guilds I know of should be protecting newer players or at least not kosing them. Do you mind telling me what town it is? In the mean time I recommend moving to MohKi it's peaceful there but also keep in mind it's only really like this because not many people are playing and the ones that are split into their own cities so some cities are way more under the thumb of the guild there because it's low pop. If you ever need help or have questions or anything hit me up Piet#0853

Ultimately, no one but yourself will be able to convince you whether or not you should want to play this game. MO2 is unique in it's own right and offers a lot for those who want to play in a sandbox, Tolkien fantasy world with high player freedom. So naturally, a game like this comes with mechanics that can be a brutal turn off, especially for those entering it with the wrong expectations or an unwillingness to adapt. I'd suggest you use the tools at your disposal, to communicate and socialise with other players so that you can start learning how to combat the negative mechanics/experiences you've faced up until now. You'll be pleasantly surprised how much more enjoyable the game is then.

I haven't read the thread so its possible someone has already said this, but you're playing at the worst possible time to not wanna get killed. The people who are playing are just really bored and spend a lot of time looking for people to kill. Either join a guild, deal with dying, or wait till persistence when a lot of others are playing.

Some more suggestions: join a guild, join a guild, join a guild. Then chose another town. Difficult to tell yet how the state of the cities will be after release because the majority of players is inactive and waiting for release. In MO1 the good cities have been Meduli and the three southern cities Vadda, Bakti and Moh Ki. In a later state of the game try to leave the cities, build a house and live in the open world.

Yes this is a problem with this game. You will be a target... always. There are ways to minimize the amount of players that will see you as a target.

Short term:
Join a local guild. Do some research.

Long term
Git gud, get a reputation and socialise. Thats the way to go but requires time.

It is really good idea to stay in beta just to learn some basics. I am veteran from MO1 (have like 7 years of playing that game) and I am still playing this beta and I can tell you I am still learning some things. If you want contact me on discord Angelo#3436, would be glad to help.
@binkus Count me in too, if you're looking for more manpower.

8 times in 2 days for me, Fabernum is a cesspit. what cities are safe in your opinion? might need to haul everything over somewhere else
In my honest opinion and experience, every town or city will have its share of pkers at various times of the day so there are no safe towns as such.

It all comes down to which town you personally enjoy being in, for me I live in Fabernum for the resources, more central location on the continent, and the picturesque scenery.

Fabernum is a real problem because the guttersnipes live there and they kill everything inside town they see. SO yeah
THey do this since 8 years. ANd i highly doubt that they will ever stop.

The new player experience was always a problem but i think with persistance many problems get fixed because of the reputation system. If you kill people in the town where you live than you will have sooner or later a problem. I atleast hope that this will fix it.
Than guild have to go to other town to fuck up the people. I mean that would make muhc more sense than now.
Not just Guttersnipes i ran into another guild there that keeps changing their name, their players try to pretend to be nice to try forcing you to join their guild and if you refuse they hunt you down wherever you go.

I also live in Fabernum, i can tell you a few things i learned from my experiences there. 1.) Outside the city is safer then Fabernum itself, the moment you ride into Fabernum you need to already plan in your head what you are going to do an do it quick! 2.) Banking, when you Bank you need to be very fast try to memorize what bags have what in each bank space so you can save time. If your horse is sitting at the bank for more then 20 seconds it can be killed by that Guttersnipes guild or that Oghstralia guild people. The Guttersnipes ones like to jump on buildings so a tip is to look at the buildings before you bank, if you see one of them try logging off and banking in 30minutes. The Oghstralia guys like to just run into the bank and hit your horse with a Hammer so be quick if you see one of them around and you aren't in their guild. 3.) Speaking of guilds, if you are a solo player in Fabernum they love to hunt you down, if you are new they might try to help you, but from my experience once you turn them down on their guild offer you become their favorite prey to hunt. 4.) If you are a new player try to run by holding Shift to level up your dexterity and make sure your weight doesn't go to OBESE. You will move on foot much quicker this way, Most player speeds are close to one another unless one player is a Veela then they will be faster then you but generally you can outrun others just by making sure no one else is at the gate. Another tip is if you have a Mount use most of it's stamina to dash outside the gate so you are far away before anyone can see you an watch what way you went. 5.) Find a player you can trust to duel with you once you get good enough to defeat your new friend you will be more confident in defending yourself if one of those guild players come after you alone at least you know you can fight one of them off. 6.) Consider switching your build to Mounted Archer or Mounted Combat. With these builds you can quickly deal some damage then run away. I have used all of these tips to stay safer in Fabernum and to date my only defeats have been to my horse dying in the bank again and again lol.

Everyone is saying Join a guild but let me add my 2 cents here from personal experience dealing with guild people from both the 1st game and 2nd game. This game can have some REALLY Strange people you met, some of the stories would flat out blow your mind with how funny or strange they are. Some people get personal or hold grudges for years xD No joke. This is one such example why you don't always wanna join a guild: If you do join a guild pull your weight and try to do as much on your own before asking for help. I know this sounds ridiculous since the whole point of a guild is to have a team and hope all your allies help each other an have similar goals...But From personal experience from Mo1 the first game i ran into a lot of crazies who expected you to know Everrrything and where everything was right away. (Keep in mind back then i worked 2 jobs for 80 hours-100 hours a week lol) I waited a week to join them on their dungeon thing an at that time i didn't even know where the dungeon was. They left me and 2 of my friends and we got super lost an had to suicide after waiting for them for several days losing items we spent a long time to get, it was really frustrating, this happened again down the line when we wanted to team up with players to get the necromancer and elementalism spell books and scrolls this time a different guild an their group was less then helpful. (There is Group content in Mo1 and Mo2 where you sometimes have to rely on allies, to accomplish certain task but Mo1 had almost no player base) The players in those 2 guild situations had no planning an everyone did their own thing and nothing was organized an they wanna shout on discord like idiots, no thanks i don't got time for that lol. I know i have better leadership skills then that and i have a lot of my own ideas, so In Mo2 i decided on release I'd make my own guild :) The Player base hasn't improved much from Mo1 to Mo2. My experience with the Oghstralia guild guys in Fabernum was just as negative, i met a dude he seemed nice at first an seemed really interested in wanting to help me and my brother out after i told him wed be his Fat Mage allies if he could help us. We were all vets and i explained my excitement in wanting to do the Content Creation program, (Game claims to offer 500k subs or something like that to youtubers, so it's like hitting the jack pot if it's true) and that i wanted solid reliable loyal allies to build our skills and wealth in the game. Me and my brother mined enough ore in a few weeks to make like 40k steel and like 20k tungsteel. The Nice guy, turned into a bad guy, his guild started killing us because we wouldn't join his guild. And because we thought he was our ally and friend we let him turn the ores into steel for us.(Remember you can only have 1 character per account so we worked out our primary points as a team on how we could all help each other, HE claimed he would be Guild allies lol since he wanted his own guild and i wanted my own) We found out later he stole all the amarantum and made tung steel weapons to create his event. ( A idea he stole from me as well to advertise allies to join his guild) After all this he told people he gave me and my brother everything we had and to kill us an talk trash in bank. (And i was just like Bro all you had to do was press the R button and refine the ores wtf is this guy on haha) And his brain washed guild mates kept repeating his nonsense even though i told them i had my own messages between me and the crazy guy on steam of us talking peacefully one moment an him agreeing me and my brother did all the work ourselves. Finally we killed all his boys after they tried jumping me and my gf at Fabernum Tower after luring me into a "Manly 1v1" Which turned into them jumping us 6v3. The whole event actually got broadcast and recorded by a player in another guild who became my friend after seeing us destroy the bad guys and for a few days i had a lot of respect in town haha. The guild we wrecked all their guys joined like 4 other guilds and now they are all in one called oghstralia.

1.)A few things i learned: If someone comes up wanting to help chances are they just want you to join their guild. 2.) If someone offers you a spot in their guild and it looks like they take everyone and anyone chances are it isn't a good guild an the ppl will just hop to another one and another one. I've seen this play out in game already so many times. I would never want players like that in any guild operation i was running. Those are usually noob guilds with some sort of agenda. 3.) Good guilds usually want good players and have you fit into some sort of plan of action with the plans they got. However before joining If the guild doesn't prove they help their guys an do things as a team then don't join them it's a waste of time trust me, you'll spend all your time trying to get them to be a team but if you aren't the leader don't waste your breath. 4.) I fight you and you fight me guilds... This is a really common one. A lot of guilds spend all their time just fighting over and over and not actually doing anything else. Most the time it's in Center of town but in the last game it was in that aids town Bakti. They usually fight in Bone Armor and they usually think they are better then they really are despite using the weakest items in game. Don't confuse these guilds with guilds that train you how to fight. Training is a good thing, the difference is the good guilds kill bosses and build cities an mine oghmium or do dungeons an shit. The Bad Ones think they are good an sit in town dueling in bone armor or running around killing noobs looking for their next fight without ever improving their player skill.

Final thoughts: If you can get a few good players together and just be friends with them and they are reliable friends. Then generally you can accomplish most things in the game without having to join a guild. For bosses and stuff you might need like 20 Mounted Archers but if you have the gold sometimes you can pay mercenary guilds to help you. For dungeons usually 5 good players with 2 mages is pretty solid.

PoisonArrow dude....I think you are jumping to conclusions without thinking this through.
In particular storing your goddamn horse packed with huge bags right in front of the banker is considered rude and unpolite since it prevents other people from using the bank... with that said anybody running a town guild(even if lawfull like Oghstralia) will eventually remove your horse from the bank area, if you really need to bring your horse to the bank try to make as fast as possible and if ti is crowded just ask

Edit: Guttersniper are bad guys they'll hunt you nomatter what.

AHHH ok this is creepergrampa in game, the dude I helped without asking for anything for about a month straight. Taught him how to make steel from what to mine to what to process. Spent about 10 hours of my life extracting alone to help him. Spent more then that walking to help him tame a bear (he is obese mage, long trip), even more farming gold for his and his brothers ADV CC books at the alchemist bowman I showed them. I taught him the road to other metals and mechanics in the game.

He became egocentric the more he learned off of me. The type of dude to say we were all bad for pvping without steel even though he had no clue how to make any without me. Also the type not to actually play the game and come pvp. Many times he sat at the gate watching us fight people who were coming into town for random fights. sitting there Mocking everyone in the help chat, I eventually got fed up and made him an enemy. Rightfully so. I will not have my kindness be mistaken for weakness.

Typical noob encounter, trust me it happen a lot. They have such a low understanding of the game that they get frustrated at any PvP circumstances.

At least you tried buddy hahahaha
