The only way to save Mortal Online 2...

The only way to "save" mo2 and make it great again is to,

1. Make iloros the main lead dev
2. Ban iloros from playing the game so he cant make changes only to suit himself
3. that is all

Idk we already tried having an mo2 zoomer as lead game dev. I wasn’t feeling it.
Listen, theres no one else i know that cares about mortal more than iloros so hes the right man for the job. Henny and his boys clearly dgaf about what the actual players need or want.. look at the game rn, actual slop tier numbers and only now are they "focusing on balancing".. it should have been all about balancing bc why tf make such a game with so many different ways to play and playstyles if your just going to fuck it up so theres only one or two metas.. imagine if there was actually sp many different builds people could play that actually worked along with the world being how it should.. the game would have kept the numbers it gained on sarducca.. RIP mortal

To extend the maximum amount of credit to him, he could design mo2, for the mo2 audience, probably ok, or let’s even say well. 9ft ogres swinging skadite weapons as toothpicks, 37kg light armor sets, dark and darker movement speed, 1v1ing with quadruple feints and looking at the ground with a stretched fov.

I strongly doubt he could design the game for anyone looking to play a sandbox mmorpg that deserves to be called mortal online.

bro i 100% guarantee iloros brings more ppl to the game than how it currently has been going.. the whole bank on that shit

You are right, absolutely, the gane would do numbers and especially so if they would have balanced pre Sadducca.

Also to answer to Telekene or whatever, people for whatever reason believe I am super biased towards my class, when I have been the biggest defender of the shit I don't play.

My last post is literally about how they will overbuff footfighters in relation to non alvarin mages, archers and pets and I constantly explain what mages, archers and pets are not an issue, only Alvarins, I want a diverse game, where my build feels like an actual build, if everyone is playing the same build, including Thursar which is what naturally happens if Thursar is OP, the game gets boring becaude its not even an rpg at that point, well at this point due zo Alvarins.

So no, it wouldnt be 9 foot ogres with skadite axes, it would be a balanced game. Don't buy into lazy propaganda.

Thank you for the support 👍

To be clear it has nothing to do with you or your competence. I wouldn’t have faith in ANYONE who didn’t have a good understanding of the prequel game. I actually think, like I said above, you could do a good job for the people who were stupid enough to have played this game for so long. You could make a pretty good mortal 2 for the dregs of gaming society that played this dogshit for the last 6 years. Shit maybe even could be playable who knows.

The 9ft ogres swinging skadite with 37kg light armor sets wasn’t your design, it was henriks.

So heres the deal man, I would desigb this game not for MO1 players I would design it to suceed and be a nieche but competitive game in the genre.

Bot a self glaze thing Im just saying the is game has potential and if you just think it through and to the usual comparison to non mo2 games of the genre, copy some staple inventions like instanced content, antizerg mechanics, the 20 second rule (POIs/something interesting) and obviously neat balancing, reworling maybe even adding new clade gifts eventually, the game would pop off.

Yeah, I think that's right, there aren't even any mo1 players left to design it for. Henrik's intentional genocide of us was just as successful as I said it would be

A game doesn't have to be all that good to be popular. Look at dark and darker.

Yeah I think with a few hellzones, and just leaning into the triple feint combat and creating a 1v1 sim would actually be a good direction for mo2, unironically.

There is absolutely 0 reason for you to be saying unironically. Solo and small scale is what 99.9% of the games are about.

OF COURSE if you focus only on zvz and dont even make it good BECAUSE NOONE EVER HAS your game will fail LOL.

its so clear what happened to this game, super, super short.

Henrik focused on zvz CONTENT (so no balance) and random stuff (literally random stuff they came up with) instead of focusing on small scale content and balance, THAT'S IT.

Its not deeper than that, they have a decent game that can attract 2k concurent like nothing, they just focused on zvz and TC and relics and world bosses that need 10 people or absolute cheese by dexmage instead of focusing on 1v1, small scale, tons of small scale content including soloable dungeons LIKE EVERY OTHER GAME EVER LOL

And please ignore this stupid ass boomer community man. They dont understand anything or have any internal thoughts. They literally have stockholm syndrome from zergs abusing them and they think a 100 pop game would get worse if we focused on solo small scale and added antizerg mechanics lmao.

The absolute most disgusting thing ever is when you talk to a solo player and tell him they need to add antizerg and he with a straight face tells you hed rather get 5v1ed by MAs with 0 counterplay and die than have a chance to fight back because of some delusional realism bubble idk even what it is its beyond me theres 0 rationalization going on with them. Its likr some players or even doomers think they are preserving some sacred balance SV has made when the truth is - game is a balancing mess and literally anything you do other than buff alvarins and zergs is a step in the right direction LOL, they could make Thursars fly and cleave 360 perma for 100 damage and it would be a better more popular game

I love what SV is doing rn, they are going CRAZY with the changes. And thats what we need.

No need for the unironically mate, thats literally what all the games ever are about, small scale, there is not enough people who want the zvz bs that Henrik is going got, there is 0 mmorpgs that dont focus on balancing and small scale solo. Its not a mystery TO ME why this game is failing. Its clear as day and simple too.

Focus on zvz and tc and content instead of small scale and balance while reworking current content to be more solo friendly, and by more I mean a lot more, like soloable bosses 8/10 with a weakest footie even if skilled. Like again other games do... Its so clear lmao.

Do balance patch that you ard doing gj, then turn most content to way more solo small scale friendly gj, add antizerg, advertise or try to at least bcs at this point SV is a boy who cried wolf, but nontheless im sure if you do all these they eventually get to and stay afound 2-4k pop. (open another shard if you cant handle 4k)

I think what you're not understanding about us MO 1 boomers is mortal 1 was like total political realism. It wasn't a game it was an actual second life. If you looked at someone the wrong way there were very very real consequences that had to be decided on the battle field like rome vs carthage type shit. Whoever won that controlled the actual world, wealth, resources and often the hearts and minds of men.

Given that Henrik nuked all of that, then yeah you may as well have a game that is a controlled experience. I'm all for solo content in mmos. Now if you want it to be retail wow where you're doing delves and shit then yes people like Ibarruri and myself aren't even going to care to discuss it, because its so far off what Mortal is/was that we're not even having a conversation in the same universe.

Since Henrik fucked it all up yeah i'm down for instanced space thursars, hopefully my gear score goes up and we can do some rated bgs.

Circling back to my original comment, I wouldn't be in true support of a game designer who doesn't know what mortal was supposed to be. doesn't even care to know, and is actively hostile to it. We tried that and thats why we got this shitty game, I was there.

Yeah my thing is I coudln't care less about preferenced of you or Ibauri or MO1 which is also a failed game, I enjoy gameplay and mechanics and the world in this game and I want it to be populated and more fun to play in.

What you just described about MO1, from the bottom of my heart, does not intrest me at all (not you saying iz but the gameplay loop) and I dont think it intrests most potential players.

We wanna solid ass fun game with cool combat mechanics full loot is great stuff, I wouldnt need it to play tbh, I just wanna make a big ass orc with a cool weapon and 1v1/1vx different people and builds in different dungrons while farming different mobs.

Thats again, most people.

In the same way that you would say mortal 2 would be excellent if Henrik just did this and that. We would say the exact same thing about mo1 ruleset. It’s easy enough to say “most people want what I want” but in this experiment between the two games with the size of the map, the availability of marketing and resources, the advantages of 10 years in the industry and the technology available, mortal online 2 was far greater of a failed game at current population levels and I would argue that the mo2 model is less valid than the mo1 model. You said “also” a failed game though so you didn’t make the common argument that people make that mo2 is more valid than mo1 by virtue of population.

You could make the flip argument that most people actually do want “meaning” in their games. It’s not nearly as one sided as you make it sound. Which is why diablo 2, vanilla wow etc remain popular and the old adage of they just don’t make games like they used to.

Mo2 might have more ceiling potential but it is my opinion that it doesn’t have any resilience since it’s just another flavor of the month type game.

In conclusion “mo2 would be sick if they just listened to me”. It would be sick if they just listened to me too.

There’s more overlap between what we want than it appears though. I’ve been giving the class balance a 0/10 since launch. Mo1 classes were pristine as much as people complained about them.

imo having a box price for the game and also a pricey monthly sub fee for a niche game like mo2 is really ridiculous, some ppl will say the sub fee isnt that much but it really is when u think about it, it adds up and it puts ppl off wanting to play the game. so many ppl quit when the sub dropped. I think SV legit need to swallow the hard pill and do whats right for the players that play, played and want to play their game and remove the box price or half the sub fee first off. then when the game is in a good state just up the sub fee slightly, its really not that hard.

then the next thing they actually need to do imo is to communicate with the community more with what their about to be working on next. i noticed they always just seemed to drop a patch with no real prior knowledge given to the community about what it was they worked on or were working on.
if you go through older patch notes you can clearly see there was shit that was being worked on that no one really asked for or that the game needed, or that dropped that really just doesnt even work correctly, which really wastes their dev time instead of working on things the community really actually wanted or needed.
some examples were the lottery system (its not even an actual lottery its basically a scratch card thing that really benefits no one/slop tier content), also the muffled voip while wearing helmets lol are just two things that come to mind and if i really wanted to write a whole paragraph of all the things they added that were slop tier and not needed i really could but i really just cbf wasting my breath on this.

those are my two main gripes with the game that need to change before we even talk about in game stuff, otherwise the game is just going to keep on the same path staying stagnant and not ever growing.

Yeah I dipped out exactly when sub dropped. Imagine paying monthly for this lolll
Other than that yeah they always focus on the wrong things. WIthout getting too much into it, its a personality flaw of Henrik's. He can't really admit he made the wrong choice on something so he can't course correct on it, or if he does it will be by adding something ELSE that is supposed to address the issue. Like the lack of real empire building mechanics so he adds this control post crap.

yh idk bro.. like why would he just not take time to speak to vet players and take different opinions and jot them all down and work from there instead of just doing his own thing without even asking what the players think of it or would want out of it.. its really not that hard and it wouldnt even be a bad thing if they added something that the players thought was bad and then removed it after the community didnnt like or want it, it would actually go along way.. bc if u just keep adding shit no one wants or broken shit no ones going to stick around to play it

Yeah his problem is he thinks how polite someone is dictates the quality of their idea. So he listens to people who kiss his ass. When someone says whoa whoa this is bad he won’t listen to it. He wants you to be like yes yes master this was such a great idea but have you tried it this way

Well except I can prove my claims by giving other games as examples and you cant.

MO2 vs MO1 comparison is ireelevant because neither did what I/most people wanted.

Sub is crazy work but no reason to debate it. Obviously every game would be more popular if it didnt have a sub.
