Buy a dedicated 4g Receiver/antenna. Dont use just a router.
I game just fine on ships sailing all around the eu as long as they have a antenna in monkey hooked up to the 4g modem. Problem with that is of course when you go out of range... But thats an issue regardless.
I also used to play games in rural Sweden using a 4g modem + antennae dish set. Had about the same pings i have now with my fiber connection. It was loads better than ADSL at the time, thats for sure.
