I keep wondering if I should play MO, but I often settle on NO. I realize nobody reads or cares what I say, but I am going to write another SUPER TRUTH BOMB post. If lots of words offend you, sorry. I would take this and send it STRAIGHT TO HENRIK because it is absolute JEWELS.

People argue over reputation problems.

One side says, "Reds should not be in blue towns!"

The other side says, "Red towns do not allow outsiders / they get zerged."

Chaos ensues. However, why are there not BLUE TOWNS like, say, Tindrem and Fab. Maybe even some towns you need + extra rep to enter, then there can be towns that are kind of GREY, they have guards, but the guards only stop pvp, they don't worry about what someone's history is. Then you can have red towns that are actually red where there are no guards.

Do you guys realize how simple this would be to implement? I have made so many suggestions that were in depth, and I feel they would work, but if I have to break it down to absolute simplicity, I will. Tell me one reason why this should not happen?

Then, you need to look at the next problem in the line and solve that, too. Let me know when you need me haha.

It would be pretty easy to use the old game files and open a MO1 server, there would be new players wondering about the old version, would sub and buy more characters, could experience danger in the graveyard... thievery already implemented
Combat would be back to normal and they could add patches like OSRS does. Old school is the way to go

haha @ bag, but I mean... they already can adjust rep stuff. I understand, as a crazy person myself, but it seems like so much of MO's player pop is in some eternally unhinged state, so you can't even really talk to them about game balance. Then, SV listens to them about how to fix the game.

Like I said, for people without the energy to read my post:

Make BLUE towns (or even have Blue PARTS, like half of tin is blue, half is gray) where rep is highly important and they take pvp seriously.

Make GREY towns/areas where guards exist, but treat everyone the same (stopping fights when they start.)

Make RED towns as they are.

Should be able to do that with numbers. The one thing that would be hard is that so many towns are the same faction and making a town with part blue and part gray might be beyond their scope. The Key is to progress in the right direction.

Then, for instance, they can add thievery to GREY towns and just make it so that trying to steal in a blue town gets you massive rep loss, too. WeW.

MO1 is scuffed tho. MO2 makes you realize how bad it really was, and, despite that, they managed to make MO2 suck in different ways.

With all of the shit you had to deal with in MO1, it's crazy they got any new players at all haha. I know all the people I got to try it were ready to quit when they saw the gfx and then definitely when they started getting dropped thru the world / stuck in a full loot game, or waiting for a gm to respond.

If you LOOK at MO2, it should be a good game. It'd have to have a lot of sucky shit to make it suck, and it does.

The main idea of this thread, tho, which is surprisingly REJECTED by the community:

MAKE TOWNS WITH GUARDS THAT TREAT EVERYONE THE SAME. Give a spot for reds who are not zergy. Altho it feels good to watch people who PKd you get zerged, it completely rules out the chance of playing a Red char (which is, many times, NOT a moral failing haha,) if you do not have a huge amount of people to protect you at all times. Or enough TC investment to have a red priest. Wak.

If you guys want towns where people need sparking rep to go, then good, have em, but there should be another option

The problem with binary choices is that they leave no room for doubt, so I won't be voting, and seeing your post and those of other people from previous years, I wonder if you shouldn't do a little self-reflection.

The non binary choice is the middle between blue/good rep (access to all towns) and red/low rep (no access.) The poll is a joke. I will reflect on it!

When is the next live stream/roadmap update? Also, for comparison purposes, what other MMO or multiplayer games do you know of besides MO2 in which guards/police (non-player characters) actively kill targets? (No examples from Eve Online, please.)
---

Not sure why you automatically exclude one of the most successful sandbox mmos right off the bat… but ok.

Albion Online has guards that attack reds that get too close to towns.
Darkfall online (direct competitor of MO) had “tower guards” that attacked flagged players in towns.
Elite Dangerous has guards around stations in lawful areas which scan and attack flagged ships.
Ultima Online had guards in town.
Even WoW has guards around cities that attack the opposite faction (pvp servers).

Most classic mmos i can think of have guards in lawful towns that prohibit player killing. Only games that dont have guards are survival arenas like Rust and Dayz.

Because tell me, are there fundamental differences with Eve Online? (Eve Frontier hasn't been released yet, and judging a game upon its release is as stupid as the fervor of thinking you'll buy a game upon its release and believing it will be good, so wait at least a year and the first updates.)
-The reasoning in the previous parenthesis is my own personal opinion, so please don't kill me for proselytizing, and I don't really know if it's comparable since I haven't played all the PVP games you mentioned (except Albion/Eve Online, Elite Dangerous without the DLCs).
----

https://www.twitch.tv/runkarni
------------
Did I say that? I think you misunderstood me, and if I didn't want to talk about Eve Online, it's because everyone refers to it in general.
And I didn't understand who Homeboy was, and no, I'm putting my comments in English and French, because in my experience, automatic translators are terrible.
For example, the streamer runkarni's pseudonym is translated by Google as ‘fuck my pussy’, which is quite vulgar in French, because pussy refers to the female sex organ, or if you prefer, the vulva, and in several other circumstances I've seen some pretty disastrous things.

And I didn't actually finish my message, the one from Wednesday at 9:50 PM #16. I wanted to say that I now tend to prefer video games to have a testing period and release feedback so as not to waste time and energy in case the game is bad.
Anyway, Mortal Online 2 did just that https://web.archive.org/web/20220131151717/ https://www.mortalonline2.com/roadmap/ And if we compare that to Star Citizen, there are players who want to be very involved and who don't have a big ego, constantly making suggestions, trying to remain factual and only mentioning the delays that are accumulating, as here https://www.reddit.com/user/Odysseus-Ithaca/ and who do live streams, reviews, and respond to players (which @Speznat could do if the game were more popular, and the little he does is fine).

And so, the game would be less dragged through the mud, shit, and constant diarrhoea by these fierce fans, with fewer appearances by streamers who stream their plethora of recommendations in good or bad faith, and who have a hard time communicating calmly without using misleading language and rhetoric (Since I came back to this forum around December 2024, I've seen a few of them.)
I mean, as long as you're going to do it, be constructive, not for others but only for yourself. Message #12 was mistranslated. I was talking about ‘metacognition’ (note that the short definition in English (the Wikipedia box) is rather awkward and elitist; I prefer the BBC's definition).
