Latency is an issue, especailly for people connecting from the west coast.

On having a separate NA Server

Pros:
- Better latency for NA Players
- Theoretical better player retention in NA

Cons:
- Split an already historically niche community
- International guilds are already formed, and likely to try to play together anyway, so there will still be latency cases.
- Lose the 1 world, 1 history feature of the game
- If a server ever has to be closed down, SV has to choose which one gets all its progress wiped.

If servers had to be shut down, that's usually a sign of trouble to begin with.

I mean, it's pretty typical for mmos with multiple servers to eventually have to close some of them, and planning ahead is usually a good idea. If you've only got two regional single shard servers though, I would like to think you won't need to close either of them for quite a while. If it happens in the first couple years, then.. yeah I mean that's a really bad sign you wouldn't be wrong there.

Better latency for AUS/NZ players.

Being a big fan of MO1 back in the day, I would love to donate and see this game succeed, but if the only server is going to be in EU then its a nope from me.
