Lets see if Illoros can highjack even this thread to rant about how OP vheelas are. Like every single other thread of the last 12 months.

Exaclty what I was gonna say, though, I like the bridge, it's not a negative.I'll fill in for him: Game pop is dropping so quickly, SV will probably release the bridge early in a desperate attempt to bring back subscribers. This wouldn't be necessary if they just nerfed Alvarin appropriately before Sard so that pvp in Sard would be somewhat enjoyable (only somewhat because of the MA issue).
thats true asf too, it was such a big fat fuck you to footies, I didnt struggle because im a vet and i understand how to get rich, but poor noobs that didnt bow down to zergs were running around in utter shit gear...We need that bridge update soon; a lot of newbies have already quit because of the idiotic decision to restrict heavy armor like that! Veteran players are all decked out in full heavy armor, while newcomers have no clue how to get that blasted Golden Hammer—which never seems to drop! They just get beaten to a pulp, both because they lack experience with the combat mechanics and because they’re forced to wear gear made of cardboard and school glue! Of all the ideas so far, this has been the stupidest one—making heavy armor totally restricted and rare! It makes races like Thursars, Oghmirs, and Humans completely unviable for new players! Now it’s just a mess of naked Elves running around in the sands!
Just need a Fresh wiped Mortal 1 Server
The bow abilties benefit foot archers the most. What a terrible take. Volley on a long bow is absolutely insane. Spread shot on long bow is insane. Not so on MA. MA is dog shit outside of weak spot scenarios and even with weak spot its still dog shit because they nerfed weak spot.thats true asf too, it was such a big fat fuck you to footies, I didnt struggle because im a vet and i understand how to get rich, but poor noobs that didnt bow down to zergs were running around in utter shit gear...
But even for us vets being solo is a misery
And yes archery isnt op, its IF ANYTHING weak compared to melee EXCEPT alavarins utilize it well, and MA doesnt have restrictions like MM and MC does.
What they should do is just let us wear good stuff, nerf alvarins, nerf MA to not be able to use abilities and to shoot a tiny bit slower just like MM does.
Fixed game.
But nah theyll nerf foot archer now so archery is shit as fuck for everyone except MAs and alvarins.
yeah thats why everyone and their mother uses MA.The bow abilties benefit foot archers the most. What a terrible take. Volley on a long bow is absolutely insane. Spread shot on long bow is insane. And I just read my point its perfect..The bow abilties benefit foot archers the most. What a terrible take. Volley on a long bow is absolutely insane. Spread shot on long bow is insane. Not so on MA. 100% broThe imbalance of some builds is due to the lack of gameplay mechanics within the frameworks within which they are played.
Mounted Archer
In PVE
– the game lacks a system for restricting monster hunts by repeatedly circling them. Mount loyalty doesn't work here. Add in the varying levels of Maut fear for different monster types, which reduces the mount's loyalty for each tick near the monster, and this type of hunt becomes safe, but not the fastest in the game.
In PVP
– the Mounted Archer lacks any mechanics for influencing him or his mount, which is problematic due to his insane mobility.
– the light bow used by mounted archers consumes virtually no stamina and has no resource management, which is nonsensical for the light bow.
– Why did they turn a formally "shoot and run" PVP class into a top-tier annihilator? Why doesn't he have a counter-pick in PvP? It makes sense that he should be a foot archer with a longbow.
The most obvious solution is to add more influence of dismounting on mounted combat to make it ranged for bowmen and mages, rather than the current centaur cosplay.
Link knockback resistance to the following parameters:
Character mounted or on foot: Mounted - a penalty that opens up the possibility of using non-standard attacks; on foot - no penalty, making only special balance check attacks effective.
Mounted equipment: none - penalty; light/medium/heavy armor - small/medium/large bonus; and mount type, each with its own bonus/penalty.
Character size - small - penalty; large - bonus. (Character weight affects range and knockback chance, since it's present here.) This condition has long been needed as compensation for the huge target due to its size. As the old Tursar said, "Small and light Ogmirs should fall more often and fly farther after a slap." If you're skimping on growth for attribute points, be kind enough to spend your active points on the Balance tree—it's all fair game.
Add a couple of ranged knockdown checks to weapons and magic.
For mages, I suggested a fireball as an example of a weak knockdown spell, one that visually flies, because with the sound and animation, everything in its impact zone should scatter like bowling pins.
Bows—their adrenaline abilities should definitely be split by bow class, with possible overlap of similar abilities, but definitely without the knockback arrow in mounted combat. The knockback arrow effect, which sends you into space, should be replaced with a balance check.
Definitely reduce the adrenaline build rate for archers. Because it's strange: an archer stands at a distance and seems to be in no danger, yet his adrenaline surges faster than that of a melee fighter in the thick of battle, and it's unclear whether he's a bloodthirsty berserker or a panicking hysteric.
All bows should be included in character resource management; otherwise, we end up with light bow archers spending stamina only on running—guess who benefits from this? Perhaps light bows should be charged for their rate of fire, meaning each subsequent shot within two or three seconds costs more than the previous one.
Alvarin
The situation is similar with them; the game has no mechanics limiting their mobility—that's the whole problem.
Alvarin don't differentiate movement bonuses while walking and running; it's as if an Ogmir had both a boost to magic and physical defense. This only seems like the same thing at first glance, but the game's history proves otherwise. It's logical that the player is faced with a choice between a ninja warrior who masterfully navigates combat or a scout who quickly escapes.
Dexterity and movement speed don't have a soft cap, like Strength and Constitution, for example. Increasing them above 120 has virtually no effect. In Strength, all weapons are available and new ones are not unlocked. What can be obtained offers a negligible bonus or is simply unplayable due to its weight. Constitution simply adds a couple of hit points, which have no impact on survivability.
Ideally, increasing Dexterity above 120 shouldn't significantly impact the primary stat. The ability to exceed maximum speed should only be available through the Alvarin's personal boost. The group boost should focus solely on combat (and not escape), as with all races, allowing players to move at running speed while on foot, without any running penalties.
The game's combat system itself has a technical flaw—running during combat, or more accurately, running unpunished. Running in combat is a means of momentum from a point to a target, preferably in a straight line. While adrenaline-fueled, you can run under a hail of blows, but only for so long, and these are exceptional situations. Under normal circumstances, a blow to any part of the body will slow the runner down. I think adding a forced transition from running to walking or reducing the acceleration from each attack received while running would add a new dimension to combat, and the group buff described above would become more meaningful.
There's another common problem, but the Alvarins, as a meta race, exploit it to the fullest: a poor balance and, in places, an absurd balance of skills for active points. On the one hand, to be a good swordsman, you need to fully master swordsmanship, while to be a good mage, knowing a couple of spells is enough. A discussion of active skills is worth two or three pages in itself, and in the right place, so I'll stop there.
agree strong. time return home jaja. Not needed. Just start to play again! The MO1 player base is low but active. There are some empty keeps for those who want to play as a group.
I didnt lose anything iliros. MA is fucking ass. Sorry you aren't smart enough to grab a long bow, put on long bow arrows, and spec into archery.yeah thats why everyone and their mother uses MA.
I never specifically said abilities benefit MAs the most, I just said compared ot other mounteds they are by far the least restricted
from which it logically follows that if foot archer, foot fighter and foot mags are equally balanced - MA will be beyond OP in relation to everything else.
MC cant use heavy weapons, heavier than likr 4.3kg tops, cant use abilities, has horrible anims and gets uniquelly countered by other meeles and EQ coz you gotta het close, MM has higher cast time cant even turn while casting and cant use half the magic nor abilities again
MA just is a foot archer on mount which is inherently OP
hence again everyone plays it bro. You are such a weirdo for being this hypocritical and understandinh of the Alvarin issue but just refusing to let go of the idea that MA is literally the same shit lmao. You tried to argue like 3 separate times and you lose each time.
Give it up dude. Hell, common consensus (not that it matters in regards to truth but) thinks MA is stronger than Alvarins in relation to its counterparts
Idk what you are conparing it to, but if you compare it to other mounted options its like 30-1? ratio picked over them.
You are lazy and put no effort in, you wont win arguments by ignoring a full post and repeating yourself, what you just said has nothing to do with what I said.I didnt lose anything iliros. You got the issue right on the nose in terms of weapon weight restriction and animations.
In the first game dismounts could happen on horse hits not just the player hit, there was no armor penalty on horse speed and the animations were way cleaner. It was very rare to impossible to beat an mc with ma they were considered a rock paper scissors counter
That specific weight restriction was a nerf to this specific weapon I’m using in the video below and they haven’t had the competence to look at it from 7 years ago for a completely different game. I testify this is the truth
