    I think one key point is, better graphics aside, the devs now have the game running on a far better engine than MO1 was running on. I remember quitting MO1 back in 2012, and many other people back in those days too, because the game had a huge amount of technical issues. Devs would fix one...

    I'm in the same boat, but I'm in Oceania, so even worse pings for me. I raised a thread about this 6 months ago, with no reply from SV or anyone being able to confirm it. One less person playing MO here too.. If they want to keep the world feeling more 'populated' they shouldn't have made it...

    The difference is that EVE Online is not a fast twitch combat game, its combat system being much more forgiving to higher latencies. I'm all for one community and more population etc, but playing what is essentially an FPS at ~300ms latency is just silly.

    I'd love to know SV's reasoning behind this. Is it to keep all players on one server, to keep the game feeling 'populated' ? If so, then why make the main continent map 3x the size??? That just further dilutes the population. FFS make the main continent in MO2 half the size of the MO1 main...

    Unreal engine's netcode by default uses a client/server model, with some server authority thrown in the mix. I'm guessing in MO1's case instead of sending the command, i.e heal this player, they may use a client-side hitbox to determine if the player was healed on the client, i.e the player had...
