I‘m so disappointed in the playerbase and SV

Back then when guard Towers were Released there were many voices complaining such mechanics would only serve the carebears and shape the Game in a way to make it more appealing for casuals and less for the actual target audience. Whether guard towers should be in the Game or not is debatable, in my opinion they shouldnt be a thing, but thats another topic.

Nowadays we have people complaining about not getting everything directly shoved up their asses. After the Patch we have -30 rep for one murder count. If you ask the majority of the Nave Chat, this is a Great change and punishes murderers as theyre supposed to. But what Happens in Reality? They are getting exiled, forced to Play in red towns. As a footie, this might be not so much of a Problem. But as a wheelchair or a character with low hp which tries to Access the bank/broker? Ye, have fun loosing your fucking Gold to a thursar one shotting you in an Instant. What does this Change imply? That Players who do not want to increase in combat skill, roleplayers and Farmers are favoured. They are the better people. For whatever reason.

The game is Advertised on Steam as a hardcore Full Loot pvp sandbox MMO. Everyone knows what theyre buying. Even on Social media, Most stuff You See isnt some Fab town Square RP, no, its the fights and the Full loot nature of the Game. You know exactly what you are getting yourself into.

Why get exiled when you actually Play the Game? Its not an PVE Game, it has PVE aspects, which ultimately lead to PVP in the end. You Farm, You get stuff, you fight with the stuff, very simple. Unblockable abilities already have given new Players the opportunity to smash Players 10x better than them the Head in if they manage to Hit which can easily be Done in a group Setting.

As of rn, the Game has a completely disbalance where noobs get Princess treatment and Vets who have been playing and paying for years are getting punished in an unnecessarily harsh manner.

The devs somehow managed to make Design Choices which literally punish you for getting better at the Game (FIGHTS ARE AN ELEMENTARY REQUIREMENT FOR THIS) or already being good at the Game. Which is contrary to Most Games in which you get rewarded for playing, grinding and getting better. No Sport, no Game and no competition naturally works like that.

I Hope SV eventually wakes up someday.

It wasn't to criticize, I was actually wondering as I often see people describe it as hardcore but I've never seen SV use the term. I personally don't think SVs vision is to make it hardcore (whatever that means) but to make a sandbox game that is based on player choice. The steam page clearly states that it is a full loot, full pvp so if someone enters the game expecting only pve well then tough luck, however it also states that there is player choice and that you can be a tamer/crafter/explorer so it might be easy to believe that you have at least some sort of choice between pvp/pve and that there is some system in place to prevent players from killing you over and over again right outside town with no real consequences.

As for the new changes in the patch I think they are overall good. There should be a distinction between reds and blues and if a new player manages to land one or two attacks against a veteran player it will make them enjoy the game more and not feel like they have to practice hundreds of hours to become a 360 triple feint god just to land a hit.

I mean, every build comes with a learning curve and imo footies are the hardest builds to learn because their builds will always incorparate melee mechanics in whatever way with whatever weapon. There Are options for you if you are Not Ready spending 100h (the time of friend of mine needed to became a very decent footie ((like an actual good player)) ) you are better off picking other builds. Mounted Archer is something virtually Everyone is able to Play even looking at the required ressources. A naked Horse is enough to build distance, escaping a fight and cheese other new players. Bows Are very cheap, horses are not expensive either. The armor is Everyones own Choice but can be very cheap too aswell as arrows. MA is just One example. The Game offers you enough options to Play easier build than footies. Yes, red and Blue needs to be distinguished. But that was already the case. Sure a red Full tung thursar with mastery and good trinkets wasnt that scared when pulling up to fab to quickly get a few Broker things Done. But as I stated in the thread, almost everyone Else had it hard. Also You were a Target for Bounty hunters. The people I used to Bounty Hunt with Most of the time are very skilled Players which I wouldnt want to fight them alone when theyre grouped. Reds had consequences. No reason to go harsher on them in a game where everything you do leads atleast in some way to PvP. Every Guild has their Farmers, all cool n shit I guess. But there is no reason those people should be exclusively protected just because they Lack fighting abilities. They Chose this way. They couldve also spent their time dueling or playing the game. Everyone should be treated somewhat equally. If you choose to be a farmer, thats your Choice, live with the consequences of not practicing PvP but also live with the advantage of making (potentially) stacks of Money without actual skill in the game. If youre a murderer, thats your choice, live with the consequences of not getting into town without being killable and always having bounty hunters on your ass but god damn let them have the advantage of being able to kill people and Take their stuff because they Took their time to get better at the game. Every other competition may it be in nature, sports, Games whatever rewards skill and the Grind to get that skill. In MO2 its different. Its punishment for skill.

I understand the point you've been trying to explain here to people, I've no doubt that you are definitely very passionate about the game in the way you play it, but I felt I should point a few things out that you may not necessarily agree with. Due to the game being what is considered a sandbox MMORPG as well as full loot, the game truly has many options for players to choose to focus on and gain skill in, you mentioned in this post that players should live with the consequences without actual skill in the game.

live with the consequences of not practicing PvP but also live with the advantage of making (potentially) stacks of Money without actual skill in the game.
In this games case I do agree that because players may not choose to learn a small aspect like footie pvp and obviously shouldn't be as protected due to that, however "without actual skill in the game" is very subjective due to the type of game this is, unpopular opinion here but endgame is whatever the player playing considers it to be due to the sandbox type game it is, if that is fishing, or acting as a marketer, an armor seller etc, there are many paths, different trained "skill" and endgames in this game that the development team has to consider. Choosing to be red and focusing only on your pvp niche will have consequences just as any other player will following whatever niche it is they choose to play and enjoy the game as. I recommend you take some time to reconsider what else you can do to enjoy the game, as you may be facing a wall due to how you view the game. The game map is massive and you shouldn't force yourself to be restricted to such small regions such as the outer bounds of a city as a red player who is arguably one of the most free people, just like in reality in the past small time bandits were quite restricted in similar ways, if a small town or city was known to have a lot of bandit activity and civilian complaints were many, feudal lords would actively recruit and post more guards in those cities due to it. Just as the game & community driven content changes and evolves the way you play it should also follow in suit.
However, of course there are many decisions or changes that may not be the greatest change, and you should give them feedback about it, just like the blue players griefing homes with horses to destroy rep, or red players standing naked with magic reflect in front of a new player leveling their animal care/veterinary skill and mental offense on horses just to maybe get hit so they can then slaughter the new players horses and kill the new player without any consequences in the middle of a major city because of how incredibly skillful they are as a red player.

There are a lot of complaints from many different types of players about the new weapon skill & reputation system, and it is pretty important that you share your feedback about that as well, because the game has such a small community its a lot easier to be heard by the developers compared to larger games, you just have to consider that some changes may be made just because one group or niche of people happened to be actively & loudly doing just that.

So you are complaining that the game caters too much to carebears and isnt hard core enough, but then complain about getting owned by Thursars in red towns?

So its ok for you to force pvp on carebears when you have the upperhand on your fully kitted mounted build…..but its not ok when you are at a disadvantage and someone forces pvp on you? Not so fun when you are the receiving end of the “hard core pvp” is it?

You shout very loud about hard core full loot pvp. So why you complain about getting pvped in red towns? You are getting exactly what you desire. Real pvp, against actual pvpers, with no restrictions. No guards getting in the way. All the freedom you can possibly ask for to kill or be killed. As hardcore as you could ever want.

Sounds to me like you dont want pvp, or “hard core”. You want to gank newbees and carebears that have little chance against you, while at the same time enjoying the safety of guarded blue towns. You are the exact player this patch is trying to discourage from the game.

If you love hard core pvp go and live in the lawless areas and pvp all day long. As a matter of fact you can roam 90% of the map and not worry about reputation. But here you are, complaining about the 10% of the map you cant access. There is no pvp there anyways, just a bunch of nubes and carebears.

Ok. I See You dont want to understand what im saying because You Like the Patch. Your Beer, not mine. You are putting words in my mouth which doesnt help anyone when it comes to this discussion. So youre assuming I‘m only After noobs and carebears. How the fuck would You Even know? Ive had multiple 1vX against PvP guilds which label themselves as such and came out successfully. Im Not playing since yesterday. Dont try to make me Look like someone whos only After the pissyellow guys. My Point with the red towns was not that „bohoo there are good players that could fuck me up“ Never said that. My Point was that a build with low HP (skelly builds of any Kind) and wheelchairs which are practically Dead once theyre Off their Mount will not be able to Access the Brokers for Most of the time. In Blue towns they are not allowed. So what does that ultimately lead to? Cutting them Off a huge Part of the Economy. This should NOT be the case in a Open world PVP game. Guilds and alliances are what makes this even worse. What stops them from Camping the Broker 24/7 waiting for a vulnerable build (in a town Setting) and forcing such people to Not Access the Open world Economy at all? „Well get your guildies, fight them. Fun fun fights in red town. All you wanted!!“ well, good luck being apart of a smaller Guild or even solo (you should be allowed to be able to Play solo as a murderer otherwise its a huge Design Flaw). „Well, then 1vX them if youre so good!“ this isnt about skill. Not every murderer but Most have at least some Kind of experience in the game no matter their build. And against a well compositioned group there is no way, no matter the gear, your trinkets, your skill, to come out of the fight successfully. Abilities make this even worse because some are unblockable and deal insanely high amounts of damage. „But bro thats so heckin hardcorerinooo! This is what you want!“ No, me and many other Vets are well aware of the Balance Problems this game has. Im Not even asking for fairness, such Games are by Nature unfair. I want the game to be playable, whether youre in a Guild or solo. I want to have a Balance that is Not Based Off some Kind of weird morality but skill and dedication. And First and foremost I want my fucking PVP back as it was. If you dont WANT to see the issue this Patch has brought upon the game, sorry, I can’t help you, youre either lost, Profit from it as an RPer (or whatever you are) or you are brainwashed. No offense.

I personally dont like the rep change because its a shit load of rep farming if you want to stay blue and pvp. You almost have to avoid pvp if you want to keep your standing above 0.

However, at this point it looks like that if you want to pvp you have to go red and stay out of blue towns, or do it in the lawless areas. So yea, the pvp gameplay just got very hard core. Much more hard core than before.

Cant complain that the game is too soft and then complain that being red is too hard. Cant have it both ways.

Most people will end up having their blue farmer character that doesnt pvp, and their red that lives out of town. At least this way newbees will be able to see quickly if they are in danger or not. That seems the way SV wants this to play out.

In the few days this Patch is out now I wasnt able to Test all the abilities by myself. However I fought against Most. I only made one thread where I explain the perspective of a Lancer on the abilities in this Patch. But as a dedicated and decent footie player also Ill do a Bit of testing and Share my final thoughts on it when I think I gathered enough Experience with it.

Yea, like I said, imagine I join a big guild. Imagine I stay untagged on one char and somehow they don't know or don't care. So, I got maltie hanging out in town... farming, picking, visiting the GY... and then I see someone who NEEDS TO DIE. I log over to my red alt and leave whatever nearby SH I am waiting in and bust their ass and walk back. Great, right? If you don't have the executive skill to set something like that up, you are probably not able to be successful in MO at all.

Now, imagine I am anti guild and don't join a guild. I'd have to find a friend group near a red priest or a guild that would let me res (if you can still do that?) So, basically, my ability to PK is gate kept. IF you make the assumption that guilds that hold land near towns are good people, then it makes sense; however, in MO, that's not the case. There is no real reward, or there wasn't, for doing good stuff, fostering growth etc... maybe when there is, the game would work like that, but until then, it's more like a 'wall' for pvp, which is completely asinine for growth. I don't like to be PK'd either haha, but without PK and looting, MO is trash. They already affected looting, and they affected PK by planting guards, now if someone REPORTS you... not just you kill someone, so you could freaking hit someone on accident in a duel or something and they could suicide. Yeah, there are things to keep that from happening, but it still could happen. Trash concept.

I do really want to play this game, but man, it just seems like an exercise in frustration. Why don't they see how much they are impacting people who might wanna play their game? Just because 10 people leave negative reviews, they don't realize that 1 person will be like oh shit that sounds like a fun challenge and actually STICK. And regardless of how much they have changed the game to make it 'softer,' people still complain about getting PK'd.

Being able to PK, grief horses, etc, that's a great equalizer. There should be a level of order on top of that, but being able to be a thorn in the side of a larger entity until they stop dicking you around is important. The low level trash that happens because of that is unfortunate, but it's also content.

I get your points but i have to disagree on almost all of them.
1. Guard towers- I don't care about them either, they really aren't a problem if you know the map.

2. "Nowadays we have people complaining about not getting everything directly shoved up their asses." -Id say thats the standard issue "pvp-guild member". Some people in the guild are mining with 3-4 accounts in complete safety so guildmates just get armor + weapons shoved up their asses. This is also true for gatekept skillbooks/scrolls ect.

3. Playing out of red towns: Yes, it's a problem. Bankbombing/ assassinations can already be painful in blue towns but on the other hand, it's what red players want to do. I think it's better they bomb each other than new players who just don't expect getting bombed in a supposedly "safe" city. (the game needs to explain that cities are not safe, Havens message gives you the impression that blue cities are safe)
One-shots are bullshit, i agree. But since the playerbase is more interested in lobbying for their builds than for balance , it wont change.

4. "Why get exiled when you actually Play the Game? Its not an PVE Game, it has PVE aspects, which ultimately lead to PVP in the end. You Farm, You get stuff, you fight with the stuff, very simple"
- Thats not the optimal way to play this game at all. Why farm?! You wanna sit in front of rocks for hours? or do you wanna run around a lake picking aloe? Just go outside and gank the naked miners/farmers. Its the most efficient way. Hide somewhere for a few minutes and then get back to town and use stuff that took your victims a combined hour to grind. If criminals can just play the game like this, it destroys any other playstyle. So yeah stealing 200g worth of mats in 15 minutes ( which isnt a problem at ALL) should get you banned from the city.
If farming/ mining/ chopping wood would be faster, it would fit a full-loot scenario much better. Long afk-activities in full-loot open worlds is something i cannot get behind. Just let people farm a bit faster, this alone would make random banditry a lot less frustrating.
-30 rep is still the wrong way. It's a bandaid that doesn't fix the core problem. Its just more grind to stay blue and it therefore wont stop blue players attacking you while still being blue. Maybe we need a symbol that shows if criminal actions are activated. If its active you can be attacked without the other player turning criminal. Would need to get a timer to deactivate but that shouldn't be hard to code.
The whole problem with the PvP for me is that if Im on my mage I can't really trust anyone. If someone gets close, i might be f'ed... so i need to make them keep their distance, which turns me criminal although Im not the one trying to rob and kill another player.

This might be the Most L Take under this thread. And I wont even explain why. Read that shit again and actually think about it for a few minutes. I refuse to believe you actually Play the Game or have actually read my Post.

Would you mind explaining what you disagree with? A lot of what they said came across as well thought out and pretty compelling, so I’m curious to hear your perspective. No disrespect intended, I’m just genuinely interested in understanding your thoughts and what specifically made you feel strongly against it.

Sure. 1st point Guard towers are a Problem imo since it gives players the opportunity to just Dodge a 1v1 and make them practically invulnerable in such a scenario. Why should this be a thing? Its literally hiding behind NPCs in the Open world. Idk doesnt fit my vibe.

2nd point is a Problem for itself which I adressed in another thread concerning guilds. Guilds as they are create many Problems on their own. Its a core Feature with huge Design flaws. But if youre Not against guilds in their current State you might aswell not complain about that.

3rd point doesnt justify the treatment a murderer gets and does not negate my points i already explained in the OP. Core Feature design flaw again if you will.

4th doesnt matter since someone HAS to do the PVE. Sure you can just rob people Off their stuff and this should also be allowed. Those players made the Choice to avoid getting better and be able to defend themselves. Just because you farmed a few Rocks doesnt mean youre a automatically a player who can’t defend themselves. Someone who farms can always prevent being robbed by just being better at PVP than the other guy and beating him as a consequence. I explained this. You make your Choice how to Play the Game and live with the consequences. But as of rn as a player whos likely worse at PVP youre getting favored and exclusively protected just because of that.

And last but not least………Someone who goes crim is grey, you can already see that shit. You can Attack him when hes crim and theres a After a criminal actions with a cooldown. Thats why I said I refuse to believe he plays the Game. But maybe I just misinterpreted that last bit.

I understand your reasoning and point now, thanks! I think its going to be hard to introduce a mechanic to dissuade guilds just due to the type of game MO2 is. I do agree that it seems development may start to be providing extra protection to blue players and farmers (which can be easily abused), I do wonder if the additional guards around towns are just temporary features until other gameplay features are introduced later on. I definitely can understand your point about guard towers, I think rather than removing guard towers, just nerfing them so they arent so incredibly overpowered could help as well for sure, unsure how I would go about implementing said nerf however.
