I don't expect it to be a priority but I would like to see house doors changed to where opening/closing and locking/unlocking are separate actions.
This would allow unlocked door to be opened and closed quickly and the actions of locking and unlocking it is what would take the time.
Safety would not come from an unlocked door since anyone could still open it.
This way someone could just open and close their doors without waiting so long and at the same time it will not be providing safety until it is locked.
