I see fartbox is making a post! Yeahh. I'm admittedly riled by dudes like @DarkWizz because I feel like they are kind of the reason the game is not held to a higher standard. Hopefully he figures his life out.
That being said! I have a lot of ideas that I could go in depth with, but I just want to drop an overarching suggestion.
Seems like outposts work pretty well. I really like that they are not associated with siege windows. I want MORE on the siege level, but let's move that aside for now.
I have given much thought to how to make 'citizens,' how to get people to be able to be rewarded for protecting cities, etc. Well, I think I might have it. I believe they should expand on the outposts and have them be areas that can have citizens / workers / whatever. So, imagine it being like a guild. The controller would get a portion of the prom farmed by their citizens, a portion of the gold merched by their citizens, and the there could be citizen based TC as well as giving citizens benefits like reduced rep loss for killing in their territory. So, it would say like x territory, x taxes, x houses, x CITIZENS.
Could go further and allow for cities to be controlled. I would love to see people have to upgrade the outposts for shit like that, and then people could siege them if they were unhappy with how the city was being run.
This could effectively end the tag or die megazerg mentality. I propose making it so that you get diminishing returns per ally so that if you take control of something with a bunch of allies that you have to really split it up, thus encouraging people to not raw ally, even if they work together. This allows for a new player to come in, not get ganked as much, to remove the 'ur farming our prom' excuse, etc... I think it's really solid, and if they can do outposts, they can do this.
I could go in on the specifics, but that is my suggestion. <3
Also add in the possibility of outpost v outpost citizen wars.
