Bad performance [FPS and input lag]

Hi there,

I just donated and installed MO2. I'm a former MO1 player.

Unfortunately MO2 suffers from low fps and input lag on my gaming notebook. I can run Black Desert Online on max graphics just fine.

My starting location is Meduli. I have low fps even on the minimum settings (like 20 FPS).

Furthermore mouse movements seem to be delayed by a few milliseconds, even in the game menu.

Any way to solve these issues? I know this is an alpha but I read that the performance was quite good.

Thanks.

First, try a different town. Sv isn't done optimizing that area. Some say one directx is better than another. Have you tried both? After that, not sure.

Try another city or run out of the city. My first day in Meduli with lots of players around I got 20 fps only. In other cities I had 40-50 fps and our in the wild 50-60 fps. I'm thinking about a new grahic device.

Meduli and Gaul Kor run ~20fps for me with RTX 2070 and i5-9600k. Wait for SV to do some optimization for the game

That is really bad. GK especially is better than that for me and I only have a GTX 1660ti and an i5-9400f.

I mean I did have temporary FPS fixes available, but SV has deemed it tampering with game files. So sorry you bought a game where you can't test combat to the fullest extent, or even run it steadily.

Btw RTX 2070 Super and i5-8600k overclocked (6 cores) at 4.9GHz. Maybe manage 60-70 FPS on 'untampered' settings when nothing is happening.

This is with high settings and 2560 x 1440, it drops to 20 when viewing the whole city. Runs 50-60fps in the wilderness

They want us to use a the settings we got available so that they can make sure everyone sees the correct stuff and that they get the right feedback.

the Jungle. Meditating on things to come.
There has been no optimization done yet. The only thing that influenced performance heavily was changing the lighting system and weather effects. A lot of the really terrible FPS drops came with daytime changes.

They do have a lot to do if they want to keep those system requirements on the steam page.

The problem is that there are tons of textures below ones we see. And the water which seem to be on the whole map below all I mentioned. Ive also seen buildings inside the GK mountains. Those things seem to be eating our PCs.

Ok. I get that.

But get this, some people buy into the alpha; then can't play. They can't test, they can't help, they can't do anything but be annoyed with the optimization.

There were going to be players who -never- edited their .ini files, and would of stuck with the shitty optimization and either A.) Not said anything and didn't play or B.) Complain and not play.

The data was STILL going to be received, and the data was STILL going to be utilized. The whole *purpose* of the .ini edit was a temporary fix to allow players to test the game, not to permanently keep changed.

Also for the guy who was telling people to play on 800x600, we will never forget how ignorant you are. Promise.

Okay guys just a small update.

Performance is perfectly fine in Fabernum. Meduli is barely playable as mentioned before. I tried both DX11 and DX12

Notebook specs if anyone cares: GTX 1050, 16GB RAM, i5 CPU.

This is my almost 10 years old PC i bought for 9k SEK(about 900 dollar) Since then i upgraded ram from 8GB to 16GB, got the GTX1070 instead of GTX670, swapped CPU cooler for a about 200-300SEK(20-30 dollar) so i could OC it and got the 700GB SSD. This all cost me about 7k SEK so something like 700 dollar. I dont think i got any special PC other than the parts have held twice if not 3 times as long as can be expected :D I can play quite nicely in most areas except in meduli looking out into the water 27 fps and the lowest i had in game so far. Dont remember if that was on max settings on stream or the settings i mentioned previously. My biggest choke on FPS is my CPU.

Running the game on max anti-aliasing and max foliage rest minimum, view distance 0% FOV 110.
