Hello.-
People keep telling me that making a pure mage/caster may be a bad Idea because they are a support class and they are not good for soloing PvP or PVP.
Is this true ? what do you think about this

Wouldnt personally want to solo with one (it is possible though), but as soon as its 2vX or more a mage is always good IMO. Corrupts can win or lose a fight.
Anyways, play whatever you enjoy most, you can make almost anything work.
(Keep in mind that footspeed, especially as a non-mounted-mage, is more important than some make it out to be.)

As long as the mage can hold its own and not die or run away and isnt bogged down by melee. It can help a lot with healing people and making sure certain enemies cant heal. Also nuke people that got high tier armor. Very useful in groups, not very good on its own. However if you make a mage able to parry with a weapon/shield its a decent improvement for its survivability and if it also got a weapon skill it can do quite well in melee, however its usually called a hybrid at that point and no longer called a mage in MO terms.

People tend to focus on builds "in isolation" as if they are planning for solo PVP, but while solo play is possible in MO, the design is really towards group play. Mages are powerful precisely because they are a support class - and if you fight alongside guildmates with other skills, you will be a valued member of the team.

What is a pure mage/caster to you?
I think on a mage you should always get blocking and one weapon skill, find a decent weapon that has low strength requierement.
Shields are also great cause they can protect your back while casting.
Rely on blocking and movement, not on unrelyable pets such as bears or other RP shit.

Idk you can manage okay on horseback, but yeah you can't really solo anything by yourself except like a zombie

I would just play an ohhmir fat mage though. No amount of extra footspeed is going to save you as a mage. If you don't have a mount you're dead anyways. Better to actually be able to do good damage than the 1% chance you'll outrun someone chasing you

If you want to solo, you'll have a much better time incorporating a dagger or a pet into your build. Otherwise, yes, it is a real struggle.

Camarro is a dex mage / tamer with dagger, shield, pet, and I like the build, suits what I do, but I'm definitely a hybrid, not a "pure" anything. And I certainly don't have any illusions of becoming an elite 1v1 PVPer with her. I support others, and I specialise in the tactical use of terrain and range (ie. I hide and I run away).

So would you take STR right down to minimum 10 and put the extra into CON?

Like the above guy mentioned, you don't need to be meta... I would suggest take psyche down until you max out con and gain some wait until your lean at the least.... I would go fit... whats your race?
