I landed on the first page from a year ago with the list of things promised. Checked off about two since then. Only hundreds to go. At two a year? Hmm... at least 50 years yeah?

That's why I do the unthinkable and suggest while NOT playing the game.

It is sad no one appreciates my dedication! o well.

I am still waiting on the wolf armor that they advertised a year ago. Since then they have added mountable guars and wisents but still no bloody wolf armor. Why even tease us with a 3D image and not execute.
Why? So people buy the game on hype and not actual delivered features. It's pretty simple.

Its a real shame seeing a large part of the original games soul was actually in the forums.
not sure what people expect. One, no one really uses forums anymore, just in general (which is a shame, forums are so much better for certain discussions than say Discord or reddit or something), and two basically the only people were are toxic haters, lol

reddit is a forum except that it can be controlled by upvotes. Forums have much more functionality than Reddit, at least in theory. The forum is here. Why wouldn't people use it?

If the game was good, people would use it. The fact that most of the staff other than myboy @Robmo have abandoned the forum is why it's dead. They make rob run interference here and on Reddit. SV has a very niche audience and they are very talkative. I went to the discord, and there are plenty of people ready to talk shit about whatever haha. If there was engagement on the forum, they would be here.

No one uses forums anymore. I've been a long time member of many car forums and most of them are very dead. Facebook groups, subreddits, and discord servers have essentially replace most forums.

Don't get me wrong, I am VERY pro-forum, I am not arguing against the merits of forums.

yea, but this is a little different. I am a long time member of many BDSM, furry, and anarchist forums. They are going strong!

I stand by what I said, if the staff did not abandon it, it would be used. Would it be the primary thing, no, but even their discord is not a primary thing. Their discord server doesn't even have shit like... a role playing section or a guild politics section. It's a joke.

Every time I hear something about what new direction the game is going, I disassociate myself more, tho, so w/e.

This place is a trash heap, populated mostly by those who make it a waste of time to even try and post here...

There are MANY reasons for this, and not all of them are due to the devs.

If I were to take a look at the forums and who hangs around (and the kind of shit they say, especially when you post something not part of the "SV Sucks" rederick), I wouldnt make any real posts anymore either (which is the reality of the situation).

Dont think this is ever going to change back to the way it was, anymore.

Not sure why I even come here. Out of habit it seems.

so emdash is still alive :d

just here to partake in the general sadness ....

i was hyped when mo2 came as a beta ( frankly , when i paid the game , i hoped it was the end of sub too ( hahaha dumb me ) )
then things hit hard , and pretty fast , haven was fun and all , the clade system was fresh and new ... but so much feature and skill we had on mo1 were missing ....HOW COME I CANT BREED HORSE FFS , thieving .... i don't even talk about the promised content , just the thing that were in mo1 and didnt come back on mo2 ( i can't understand that , even thought i'm really trying )

the map was WAY bigger , it was cool , but it also meant that much more ressources and POI were needed ( from what i read on the forum , it's still as empty ...)

big population also meant more competition among crafters , exept , since there is no price-check/regulation system at the seller ( been so long i forgot the actual name ) you can't really get competitive ... also , the crafting system is so complicated (be it in a good or bad way depend on POV), you need to spend quite some time to differentiate the stat and stuff of what you need/want ...adding to the fact that , let's say , a team of 4 or 5 max , can provide everything for each other ( i'm sorta sure 3 people could do armor/bow/melee without any trouble) the sale volume was sorta on the lower side exept for niche market ( like the few alchemy guys , did i mention the total absence of source/tutorial ?)

lastly , pvp
an unsolvable bucket of sht
some want to live in peace everywhere
some want to murder anything that move

middle ground is hard to balance

i'm myself 80% PVE ;
DISCLAIMER ; i've quit a long time ago so idk how good/bad are the new guard tower system i read so much about

i'm ok with risking my stuff when going to farm some PVE , or meeting a bloodthirsty red pvper along the road , no problem with that , i mean , mortal is litteraly the game name ....

i'm ok with having guard inside town , even semi guarded road from town to town why not, but those zones should be voidless of any POI , i don't wanna farm under protection either .... ( semi-npc caravan system would be a good middle ground i guess ? something hard but not impossible to do for pker , you would need to invest people and stuff to get ...more stuff .... would even provide some pvp/quest opportunity as pseudo guard for players ...)

but
i'm not ok with PK/mount killing inside town , at almost no cost for the killer ( in mo2 thievery was more punishing that pk/mount killing , and in mo1 some mount were worth a fortune , and you could kill them with a cheap sword and losing 2/5 minute of blue respawn timer )

i'm not ok with a team of 5/10 red sieging the entry of a town with blue friend shielding them ( frankly this one is easy , you are near red people more than X ammount of minute , you turn grey , end of problem )

i'm not ok with the flag system working like it does , let's be honest , if you are killing things and you see one or several blue guys beelining you , it don't taking big wisdom to understand your ass is gonna be cooked hard , problem is you can't even give the first shot since you'll go grey , denying you access to guarded area ....

to summarize , do i wish to risk my life to get stuff ? yes ! do i want to lose everything to a guy that would lose almost nothing ? NO

same, lol also blade, I think I'm on my way out, tho. Am just engaging in PM discussion about PaxDei.

But my contention is that the downfall began when the devs abandoned it. When the game was hopping, stuff was happening. And yeah, the game was OK for awhile. It seems like after various things happened, they went into their shell. It's not all the devs, and I mean when I've made a post sometimes people who I haven't seen in awhile come out. That's why I post stuff, other than just to respond to other people's posts.

Reddit is pretty blah, discord is pretty blah ( I left there today.) It's just this community is lifeless atm. There might be something going on somewhere, but it's not manifesting very well outside of the game other than people posting obligatory cry moar sort of posts, which are important, but there needs to be more.

Oh well. I still think you might be surprised if you make a real post. I dunno what you'd say. I'm gonna read blade's post after this. I read what I can. I know a lot of people do and sometimes they respond. The part that bothers me is that nothing changes. If good discussion ever starts, even the people who you think are all on SV sucks often chime in with good input. I'm a member of other 'trash heap' forums haha. Kinda moving away from them, too.

It's cyclical. I can deal with it sometimes. Now I cannot.

Moh’ki
I agree with @Emdash the forums are definitely active. A few weeks ago I put a recent lore write up of the history in Moh Ki and it was spammed everyday with retaliation and propaganda from shitters on the other side of the war. So I just deleted it to keep the peace.

My point is that if you give people a reason to come here and make the forums interesting, they will come in hordes trying to challenge your experiences. That is what made MO1 so intriguing. This was before Discord so people could come here to vent, share, create, or educate their knowledge and experiences. It’s ultimately up to the guild leaders to make the forums interactive again.

Get off Discord and come share your stories.

Lmao... good one. But absolutely NOTHING on that list is more important than THIEVERY. Its a must since day one !
I'm convinced that thievery will never come to MO2, just like boats, wagons and dragons.

Now that Sarducaa is next on the current roadmap, my guess is that the next round of sprints after that will be focused on fixing and adding more fluff (armours, weapons, mounts and dungeons) to the new continent, just like they did for Myrland.

If we do hear anything about thievery, it will probably be another carrot on a stick, along the lines of "We will talk about it after the next several sprints."

I think the problem with SV is that they get all smug when they do something and are like aha, and they don't foresee the drop off. They lack prediction power. So, like with this patch, instead of thinking about how to maximize what they began to add, they just were like well that's that! And now all the first month subs are running out.

There are massive nubs in Haven, and it's a damn shame that they aren't gonna stay. They are staying long enough that it makes you wonder if their sub shouldn't start until they enter NAVE.

REPEAT FOR HENRIK: MAKE IT SO THAT WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR FIRST CHARACTER(S) YOU CAN SPEND AS LONG AS YOU WANT IN HAVEN AND YOUR FREE MONTH SUB DOESN'T START UNTIL YOU GO TO NAVE.

You all know I fucking hate haven, but nobody is budging on that. At least do that much for nubs. Dudes stay in Haven for a week+ and then they won't have enough time to try the game out and will just let it drop. Gotta think about shit like that!

I think its absolutely poitntless that Haven even exists !
There are so much protection all around Nave, with SO MANY guards everyfreakingwhere, that Id risk to say : a new player is safer inside Meduli's Graveyard than in Haven itself !

Just make it so that new players start in Toxai, or Medulis Graveyard, Or Mohki with all those guard towers on every 5 meters outside town... It will make them feel so much protected that maybe some will even vomit...
They will say : "Damn, I came to Mortal Online because it was said this game was hardcore, but look at all these guards everywhere protecting me... This is safer than ESO Online"...

We wont be able to murder these people, but At least, with these newbies roaming around, wont make the world feels SO EMPTY

There is three ways this is going to happen:
- the sub price is increased to like 50 bucks a month it being a niche and all
- a lot of time passes and the current Dev team is able to be maintained and they implement the most interesting of this list
- the team make the game if not mass appeal, at least appealing enough to bring in enough people to fund this development. I know you hardcore people don't want to hear this but this would mean stuff like PvE servers, opt in PvP and stuff like that.

If you don't like 1 and 3 then just be patient. They are pushing out a lot of content as it is.

Best thing for the game would be for SV to sell it to a real game company.

dudes need to be patient, that is true, but they also need to demand a worthwhile direction for all. Everyone wants stuff, but they all want slightly different things. People need to get together and say we want THIS next and we are gonna talk about it until it happens. Like say thievery.

SV ain't selling. They got something going on that is making them money. Dunno what, but it's happening haha. I think that is the part that bothers me more, that it seems like game design isn't their first priority. Things ARE getting changed, though, but it just becomes about whether people can agree on what they want changed.

I tried to say this like 3 years ago.

The type of people who are active on MO sites are very angry and very irrational oftentimes. I remember saying on Reddit that I would be that guy and help organize stuff if people would just tell me what to do, that I would try to be like the player community manager, but people would need to get behind me, too. And everyone was like WHO DO U THINK U ARE. It's like jeez guys.

So, it's not our fault, per se, but there is a path way to getting just about anything changed IF we can get the majority of the population to rise up and demand it.

The game isn't gonna be 'good' like a lot of us want, but it might be more playable with some changes.

NO, man.. Please dont even suggest that !
Everybody knows what happens when games are sold to big companies... It kills the core idea of the game and starts aiming on PROFIT only... Therefore they will turn the game into a big Carebear land, which is what all those big games out there are... Trash carebear lands with pve servers and rules for pvp...

Been there, done that...

If MO2 goes to any of these billionaire companies, it will end the "full loot" feature in less than one day !

Despite all the crap, MO2 is still the only game in the market that offers some freedom to do whatever you want, without pathetic rules or restrictions.

Maybe two other games get a little close to MO2, but are far worse : Albion and Eve Online.
Everything else is a complete big giant trash... Trash Clones

We actually should be THANKFUL that we still have Mortal Online to play.
Although ill never forgive them for not adding THIEVERY... :{
