Nerf the outlier, not every single thing the outlier uses well.

If Alvarins make the best mages and archers while also synergizing especially well with archery and magic, nerf just Alvarins, nerfing magic and archery brings all the archers and mages down, and none other than Alvarin are problematic at all, they are weak even. You are not fixing anything just nerfing player characters in relation to PVE I guess? The issue will never resolve until you either buff all non Alvarins or nerf Alvarins.

And every nerf starvault does for mages seems to be trading power nerf, they nerf spell damage, they nerf healing, they add abilities that interrupt etc. which impacts mages that are slower exponentially more than dey mages so you are really just nerfing non Alvarin mages the most, that is why right now, there is like 9 Alvarin rangeds (mage/archer) for 1 non Alvarin ranges, usually a fatmage that NEVER goes out alone, that is a massive issue.

So you do not nerf tools mages use, do not nerf archery, nerf the common denominator, the most powerful race for all builds that especially amplifies all ranged classes due to kiting, but make no mistake, is so overpowered it makes the beat footies also.

Why I had to write this is because I checked mortal online 2 official discord and people are a bit outraged at there being no meta changes, new and returning players are coming back and realizing game isnt what they expected it to be at all and they are in discord talking about "what we need is snapshot to cost 2 adrenaline, abilities nerfed, brace nerfed, concentration nerfed..." ALL OF WHICH nerfs Alvarin versions od those builds the least.

2 quick examples

1. Sheevras are least impacted by brace and conc nerfs because they get hit the least % of the time they are alive thats just fsctual. Brace nerf also giga buffs archers.

2. Any adreanline/ability nerf nerfs non Alvarins especially Oghs and Thursars more than it nerfd Alvarins because they have more HP and sustain which means they get morr adrenaline per fight.

I know the nerfs for something are coming either when it drops live or inevitably when everyons starts complaining about the meta, we already have a few archer Alvarin guys on the PTR beating everyone not Alvarin with no counterplay.

So you are making a huge mistake of nerfing the things outliers use, instead of nerfing the outliers.

Archer builds on

Thursars - not OP
Oghmirs - not OP (rock solid bow shooting gets heavily outtraded by most meele its suicide)
Humans - not OP
Alvarin - OP

Mage builds on

Thursars - completely useless
Oghmirs - not OP, weak overall but at least has rock solid so if enemy doesnt try to counter you via mauls you can provide some value
Humans - rather weak nowadays
Alvarins - OP, though nerfed

Footie builds on
Thursar - gets beaten by Alvarin mage/archer 100 out of 100 times
Oghmir - gets beaten by Alvarin mage/archer 100 out of 100 times
Human - gets beaten by Alvarin mage/archer 100 out of 100 times
Alvarin - Beats all mages and archers and is the most popular, survivable build in the game.

Then we have MA which is in a unique position of being able to use abilities on mount and keep 100% offenae (MC and MM are HEAVILY restricted compared to foot versions) so it's just inherently OP. If you allowed MM to use ele and abilities and have same cast time on mount and is able to zurn MM would be op too... Its a no brainer lol. Just nerf MA bows are fine


So yeah, SV do not nerf the wrong thing for a hundreth time, nerf Alvarins and MAs, that's it. Bows are fine, 0 kill pressure when used on non-Alvarins, not even a real weapon choice really, magic is in the same boat, brace is fine, abilities overall are underpowered even. Just nerf the common denominator in Alvarins already.

P.S. I do not wanna undersell how OP Alvarin footie too is rn, such a powerhouse of a build, but the best synergy with Alvarin against non Alvarins truly are mages and archers and they make the non Alvarins completely miserable, Alvarins survivability overall needs to go down, eother via hard stam and stam regen especially nerfs, decent speed nerfs or massive HP/con nerfs I suggested the nerfs in my last post.
