Hey guys i know we are in beta, there is alot missing and tons incoming i understand all that. The one thing you should focus on quickly is getting a better tutorial. I understand this isnt supposed to be a hand holding game. and i love that, It remindes me so much of UO that i get nostaligia playing it all the time*( Sorry About my spelling)
BUT! I definitly think with this generation of gamers and just to be a better game in general what you should do is have a more in depth tutorial. As in! Examples below!!
- When you log in at first it takes you to each Tutor/Vendor in haven before leaving and explains what they do. Then takes you to the graveyard to kill 25 zombies. After that takes you to the library to show you how to lvl up skills reading books. After that Take you to the Ranger to learn archery lke you currently have. To kill 10 pig and sell their look. Then Take you to the magic tutor/vendor to buy some and have the quest to be to cast a spell. BASIC DUMB THINGS i know sorry but lets me honest the general population needs it. This game is extremely revolutionary and will take some adjusting! BUT you shouldnt discourage new players. and thats all not having a good tutorial does ( The current one is terrible im sorry its true. ). is discourage new players because they feel dumb or not enough. I understand the arguement " Its supposed to be a game where you figure it out on your own" But people arent. They are standing around asking a million questions rather than enjoying and learning. So I propose you add much more to tutorial island and make it newbie friendly. After haven its no hand holding of any kind your own your own. But if you truely want to get new players invovled in your great game, you will need to hold their hand in haven till they learn. it wont hurt gameplay any in the real world at all. It wont hurt the vets, it wont hurt the economey, This change would do nothing but make it more user friendly at first. because you cant take anything but things you learned from haven! Soo why not devs? i feel like this change would really help and spark player interest. Just alittle more hand holding and teaching and guiding in haven. Then release them to the wolves when they leave. But for thoose that want to learn on their own. They could skip the tutorial just like they can now. So therefore everyone wins! the people the want to learn on their own and the people that need alittle more help to start. there are no negatives to implementing any of theese changes and are only positives.
