What I would want to see from the new weight/hunger system

Apparently weight is on the list to be changed to something less annoying.

I would like to see something that would add survival game content. Something that adds enjoyment and bonus's not just penalties.

Food and hunger

Add a hunger stat. A example would be 0-300. If you eat food the value increases. When the value is below 100 you are hungry/starving. Above 200 is full/gorged.
If you are with in 100-200 then you are in the normal zone.
When hungry you will start to lose weight over time. When you are full you will gain weight over time.

Reserves right now you start to see grey bar when you are below 2/3s reserves. I would say that they should allow rest up to 3/4s reserve and then after that you can eat food to fill up reserve to max.

On top of this depending on what you eat you can get bonus to reserve cap. Any health food you eat past your reserve limit will give you a fraction extra reserve in that reserve while degrading back to normal over time. If you dont eat and are starving then you could start to get penalties like damage over time and reduced stamina regeneration.

Dying and taking damage should be what penalizes your reserves. Instead of being a limiter on players playing the game.

Hydration and thirst

I would also like to see a hydration meter and for water to not be considered food. Make people drink water but not be over burdening.
Make hydration stat of 0-300 as example. 0-50 is dying, 50-100 is dehydrated, 100-200 is normal, and 200 to 300 is hydrated. At dying you start taking health over time damage, at dehydrated you will have a tiny stam regen penalty, nothing happens at normal, and at hydrated you get something like .05 stam regen.

The player can lose 1 hydration point every minute which means from full to 50 is just over 4 hours of play. And full to stam penalty is 3 hours 20ish minutes of play. You can carry water with you so its less of a issue of not being hydrated.

If you spawn from a priest then you get a 10 or 15 minute grace time of no hunger or hydration issues. Every city should have a well and I would like to see a way to get water in the snowy mountains. Possibly collecting snow and boiling it.

Conclusion

With a system like this people only need to make sure they stay in the golden zone by eating any food and drinking water occasionally. No longer will not having the right food hold you back from playing the game and if you don't want to gain weight then you just need to manage how much you eat. You will have a 100 point window to be used to buff what type of reserve you want instead of needing to eat to fill up a reserve.
