The savage mantle reduces peripheral vision significantly. When Mercenary Plate was having this trouble, they solved it my making part of it invisible from the perspective of the wearer. A similar change would make the savage mantle less disadvantageous
It's a problem but also because it's bulky at the shoulder and also quite wide it hides animations very well, the reduced vision (almost no vision when on horse and looking right) is a bit much right now, but without it the item is just p2w.
