Setting the tax should be optional but yes there does need to be the ability to tax or there is no incentive for open cities.

Nope dont see the map pings and alot of people dont constantly watch it. I think global chat vs other communication are not the same and do not have the same impact.

We defiantly dont need a global chat wich would mostly be abused to shout locations of players and guilds while they are trying to do content. Theres so many ways to communicate outside the game. I dont even like the help chat system. With Discord, Forums, and other players there are better...

I guess this is their solution to people griefing in town. This way no one can just stay in town all day killing horses or blowing up people with earthquake because at some point they have go build their rep back up.

Yes! Just had a friend come out of haven today and he said it was really difficult to get past that. He is making a mage so didn't build any strength at all.
