Mages are trash or what the hell is going on?

Yeah, I understand that. However, I think it's very difficult for someone who wants to play a mage to accept that the first school of magic they receive won't help them survive 1v1 situations. Hopefully mages receive more options or a serious buff prior to release.

Mages are trash or what the hell is going on?

They should be buffed but not be able to take on a warrior 1v1? That's were I think the majority of newer players disagree. Personally, I think all classes should be able to win 1v1 situations/duels without making group PvP unbalanced. Accepting that warriors will always be the best 1v1 is...

Mages are trash or what the hell is going on?

It seems veterans of MO1 have come to terms with the way Magery works while newer players like myself have higher expectations. Personally, I feel as if it's not worth rolling a mage due to the clear disadvantages. Most notable is the inability to defend yourself in 1v1 (equal skill) type...

    Magic and PvP

Henrick stated that? Interesting, can you link that? Btw, I didn't say 1v1 only so.... yeah lol Both 1v1 and group matter for a well balanced game. If he has no intention of overall balancing then well, best of luck.

    Magery and archery?

I'll just roll a Warrior til the lack of diversity and balance bores me.

    Magic and PvP

Honestly, it wasn't worth continuing when you first stated it was easy for mages referencing not needing to craft weapons. Pure mages are what was being discussed not hybrids or mage/tamer builds. Clearly, your real issue was the possible effect buffing mages would have on groups and that's...

    Magery and archery?

Devs should balance the classes for both 1v1 and group PvP imo. I believe you should be able to "choose your path" and be viable in both situations as well as PvE. I agree with wanting a projectile based system but ok with either if it's balanced. Given the focus of PvP in this game properly...

    Magic and PvP

I couldn't disagree more. It's not easy to get a mage to a viable point for new or solo players specifically due to the imbalances in both PvE and PvP. You view viability as being able to buy armor or play support in a group. I view viable as being able to defend myself 1v1 in a PvP focused game...

    Magic and PvP

You're serious? Have you been following the forums? The vast majority disagree with your assertion of a mage being easy for both PvE and PvP. Thinking that not needing to craft weapons makes them easy is beyond ridiculous when weighting each classes pros and cons. The argument that the classes...

    Magic and PvP

I had to reread the description of the game again, just to be sure. Yeah, it did not put an emphasis on guilds in anyway. It does says "choose your path" etc. Perhaps, someone didn't get the memo? Games clearly indicate guilds being the focus if that's the type of game play they're going for...

    Magic and PvP

In a PvP focused game such as this I think it's incredibly important to balance the classes in such a way to allow them to survive a 1v1 situation vs others. Currently, if you wish to stand a chance in this situation then you'll have to roll a Warrior. Your point regarding armor is fair...

    Magery and archery?

??? So... You're ok with an imbalanced game where only warriors can 1v1? Balancing the classes does not mean mages become op obviously so... no need to worry about everyone jumping on one specific class like it currently is. I do see your point about not truly being able to block magic and I...

    Magery and archery?

I assume they do extensive internal testing regarding balancing due to it's importance in a skill based PvP game but from my limited time spent in the stress test I'd say some combination of damage increases and decrease of casting time. Also, some combination of decreased mana consumption and...

    New player - playstyle viability?

According to the information I've received. You're only chance is running away. They need to balance the classes. If you'd like to play a warrior, mage or archer type then you should be able to win in 1v1 situations. Currently, this isn't the case. You're either a warrior or dead.

    New player - playstyle viability?

I was also considering something like this as well. Either a archer or mage build that can compete with a warrior but it seems that's not a possibility unfortunately. You're either a warrior or die in 1v1 type situations. Hopefully this changes.

    Magery and archery?

That's an interesting take. Btw I'm not saying switch roles with warrior types so mages are the new king of pvp and pve. I'm simply curious as to why it's not balanced. I'd like to roll a warrior, mage or archer and feel I can win 1v1. It's the only aspect of this game that is seriously flawed...

    Magery and archery?

That's odd. Have they mentioned anything in regards to fixing this or seriously improving overall Mage game play, more specifically 1v1 type PVP? It doesn't make sense given the obvious disadvantages a mage has you'd assume they'd have a proper trade off. Having one class type with such a...

    Magic and PvP

Agreed. There's very little incentive to play mage. They should balance the 3 main types (melee/archer/mage) so they're all viable in a 1v1 PVP situation. Mages have so much going against them. Where is the trade off? You'd think given the disadvantages you'd be able to 1 shot someone.

    Magery and archery?

So... farming with magic is not worth it at all. That sucks given inventory space loss, lack of carry weight, cost to cast and overall difficulty. How about mage PVP? Is it balanced or is it just support? If I duel a melee type of equal skill would it be a 50/50 chance of winning?
