So you get -30 rep for killing someone now? Are they trying to turn off pvp?

This is just gonna make towns even emptier, yeah some noobs might be a little more safe in the sewers but what are they gonna do when they get bored of killing zombies and scoundrels?

K like the flagging system is not good but you can’t just hand a new toon 30 murdercounts and brick a character for a new player.

Jesus, man...
We are expecting for good stuff like THIEVERY, Boats, poisoning and lockpicking, and what do they deliver ?

Penalties to Reds !!

This is so unbelievable... We have bad changes over and over and over...

People that bring content to the game are being punished... The reds and scoundrels are what make this game exciting... If you make their lives miserable, they will stop playing...therefore the game becomes tedious and boring.
Why is it so hard to understand by the Devs ?

I cant believe im still paying for this game after being so much tortured by the Devs...
And waiting for Thievery since 2022... Unbelievable.

I this thread a joke? Yes there needs to be penalties for you killing people around town. Like shit man, go play in the lawless zones if you're so soft you can't handle having no standing or being red.

It just benefits zergs tho because they don't have to play by the baseline rules of the world. So, people can kill, hop on their alt if they wanna go to town without problems... and then poor Emdash or Maltie who are simply trying to live their life, and maybe they have to kill a man who is causing them strife, they will be eventually outcast to be eaten in a lawless zone.

Until the flag system makes sense, this is a stupid change. They should really think about making guild flags override solo flags. They also need to fix that shit where if three people attack you and you kill one you are probably grey AND get a MC haha depending on who gets hit first.

It, like everything else, has to be balanced and make sense. The flagging system as is I don’t like. A good system should ideally preserve fun and be believable. So we shouldn’t have people with 1000 murdercounts strolling through town like they own the place but you also can’t just turn off PvP.

So anyone that wants to pvp now needs to join one of the zerg guilds and wait for one of their arranged fights with 30 fps in the lawless zones.

No thanks, I like small scale pvp. Which is gonna completely die after this patch.

If they hated reds in town so much they couldve just not let them in like in MO1, it worked fine. Not brick your char after killing 1-2 ppl.

You guys are completely missing the mark. Your actions to murder people around towns should have consequences. Your murders should limit or bar you from access to said towns. I have 2500 murder counts and I'm not crying about killing people around town. Nothing will stop you from killing people, but the game needs consequences for these actions when we have ZERO consequences for murder right now.

Go fight people who have more experience in the game like you do. Why are you looking for "PvP" against the easiest targets with the lowest of value. Most of these losers I kill between Fabernum and Tindrem have nothing.

Im not saying you should have 0 consequences but this is swinging the pendelum too hard on the other direction. With this change, you can turn red just from 1-2 kills, this can happen by mistake in any pvp fight on blue areas. At the end of the day, murderers and pvpers bring content near guardzones where solo players actually have a chance to not get zerged, the consequences should be just enough that you have to pick your fights and not kill anything that moves.

And funny of you to assume Im a tatsuya-like griefer that only kills noobs straight from Haven. I mostly play solo and Im not gonna ride 2 hours to the risar/mino whatever dungeon only to get zerged by 10+ fuckers fully decked with 20k trinkets, 270hp, full cron/ogh armor, etc.

I think that second part is really your argument. I agree with that. We need content that restricts player access as to allow solo 1v1 or small group experiences. I'm not saying instance the content, but we can craft the environment intelligently to where large groups are restricted access. For example, say you drop into a small cave where you fight some type of mini boss. When the boss encounter starts the entrance to the encounter collapses. When the encounter ends, the ground collapses and you fall into some underground stream that might lead to several different cave systems or larger bodies of water. You can scale the experiences for the group sizes, but the one way in one way out content just perpetuates locking down content and zerging out your competition.

I truly miss MO1. I remember my first time logging in, hearing the music, walking very very slow... being a noob , Hitting your hands together to go to combat mode... The Tindrem graveyard was a hotspot for PVP. You could fight greys or reds without guards bothering you(except for the spam guard calling..) The game felt actually scary and there was a real risk for your stuff. Sure you died plenty of times but thats where the thrill was. No Trinkets needed or unnecessary combat changes. The most was OVERHEAD STRIKE. Each class felt balanced and had its benefits for the time. Even thievery was fun! Getting chased around parkouring on rooftops!
The player experience felt very smooth and fast paced. Forward dash was cool!! It wasn't clunky like MO2...

I miss when reds used to go through the slums to get into the graveyard and create memorable fights. Even I did it on my red account and brought fresh fights to the community. It was a great way for me to get new gear and learn how to fight. Getting steel, cronite weapons and armor as a new player.. Once I learned more about the game, it got even better. I played as a mage, hybrid, foot fighter, mounted, necro... Joined many guilds, lived in walls, visited each city. What I would give to go back... I might invest in a developer to make a similar game.. if a remake never happens.
SO many players would play the old version again. Just like it was proven by Old School Runescape.

Glad you mentioned the double tap jump. In terms of a remake, undoubtedly there are coders out there that are so incredibly skilled, they could entirely remake the game on unreal probably within a year to the point where they could reproduce everything in the game the jumping the feel etc. The problem is that the MO community is small and the people with those kind of skills have never even heard of the game.

Maybe the only question is the netcode, they might have to make it a 100 player server or something.
