1. Guild Broker

I thought that joining a guild would make everything easier. A lot of things are easier, but trading isn't. Especially not when your guild's headquarters is far away from the nearest town with a broker. And since there's no alliance chat, you're either stuck with the guild chat or (as most people seem to do) Discord. This all takes unnecessarily longer and, in my opinion, doesn’t offer any immersive added value. On the contrary, I find the constant use of Discord and tabbing in and out to be immersion-breaking.

That’s why I’d like to see guild/alliance brokers that you can place in your territory.

2. Set Loadouts

As a Mage, I need not only armor but also a lot of other ingredients for my spells. Sometimes I need 25 items (15 ingredients + 5 armor pieces + 1 weapon + potions + other stuff), which I buy from the broker or take out of my bank/chest one by one. This is tedious and adds no value to the gaming experience. It just wastes time even though solutions to this problem have long been available in the genre.

That’s why I’d like to see loadouts where you can create a set with all your items and armor, select it at a broker/bank/chest, and automatically purchase or take out all the items from the selected loadout.

Edit: I completely forgot that you can now mark items and their quantities as favorites in banks and chests. That feature didn't exist back then.

3. Map Tools.

Everyone uses the Mortal Online map online to find specific locations. The point of this missing in-game information is to encourage players to discover locations on their own, navigate actively, memorize places, pay closer attention to their surroundings, and thereby create a greater sense of immersion.

However, since we’re living in the year 2026, everyone uses third-party tools, and the immersion goal isn’t being met, I would suggest expanding the in-game map. BUT not by simply handing out all the information on a silver platter without exploration or communication in game, but rather with additional map tools that let you create your own markers, as is common in many survival games. The idea is that you don’t see anything on the map at the start. You can’t simply toggle all information on and off using a filter function like on the Mortal Online map. Instead, you have to create markers yourself, select symbols, and name them. Once you’ve created many markers over time, you can share them in-game with other players. For example, if someone asks in the help chat where to find Location X, another player can share that location. This can be only with players standing right in front of you, as if you were actually “showing” them your own map, like a tourist asking about a landmark.

That would be the best solution to stop relying on third-party sites, avoid constantly having to switch back and forth, and at the same time not only maintain the immersive role-playing factor, exploration or communication but actually enhance it. Players would thus create their own map in-game.

4. Final Thoughts

I understand what Mortal is all about. It aims to offer the most immersive MMORPG experience. To achieve this, it’s often necessary to design things in ways that are time-consuming and inconvenient. However, the things I’ve listed are simply time-consuming and inconvenient without actually being immersive. On the contrary, they actually harm immersion because you spend most of your time on third-party sites instead of in-game, and that isn’t going to change. That’s why it’s important to come up with creative solutions that maintain immersion while also providing conveniences that don’t cause any harm.
