The range of sounds is way too short. When a horse is sprinting you should be able to hear it and know where it's coming from. Currently you don't hear anything until it's right up on you. You become complacent of what's around you without constantly turning to scan the environment.
If you see it you should be able to hear it. For how hardcore mortal is, the sound effects should project large distances.
Are sounds bring clipped for client performance or is it by design?
I understand turning up the range of sounds would put more stress on the client but I think it's necessary.
Another irritating sound problem; The jungle has an ambient bird noise on loop that has no position in 3d space. When you turn, the bird turns with you, so it feels like it playing from the center of your head, drives me crazy. Please give it a 3d position or disable it.
