From what I've seen the map isn't actually 5 times bigger. It takes just a little over twice as long to walk to places in MO2 vs MO1. That leads me to believe it's only 2x bigger than the original. Otherwise it would take 5 times as long to walk anywhere. Unless it's new content not pertaining...
